Three of my favorite New York-based wine bloggers have done posts recently worth checking out.

Starting with my Beaujolais-exploring Brooklynite Neil, who is still digging Castello di Borghese’s 2002 Cabernet Franc Reserve ($32). He says "…the wine was just delicious, medium bodied with pure and clean plummy
and blackberry flavors, and undertones of that same pleasant cedar." He contends however that it’s not a great value at $32. Hard to argue with that, but I think CdB’s cab francs are among their best wines.

Next up is everyone’s favorite wino…the Finger Lakes Weekend Wino that is. I envy Robin’s ready access to the Finger Lakes (he owns a summer cottage right on Seneca Lake), and he has apparently visited about half of the regions wineries this year, making him uniquely capable of noting the trends he sees in Finger Lakes wine.

Last but certainly not least is Carlo from East Coast Wineries, who took a break from his busy book-writing and winery-starting schedule to visit the New York Wine & Culinary Center. I need to get out there myself…I’ve wanted to check it out for a while.

Also worth noting is Jay McInerney’s blog, where he posts about a couple Long Island wines he’s tasted recently at Della Femina.
