RieslingHourBy Lenn Thompson, Editor-in-Chief

You're going to hear it a lot, so get used to it — May is Riesling Month in the Finger Lakes.

Tonight at 8 p.m. as a part of  the month-long celebration, Finger Lakes Wine Country has organized "Riesling Hour" a virtual tasting happening via Twitter and Facebook.

It's similar to TasteLive, but scaled down, and easier to take part in. To participate one only needs to open a bottle of a
Finger Lakes riesling — from any producer or vintage — with friends or
family
at 8 p.m.

Then simply log on to your Twitter profile and post some comments
and pictures on the wine using the #FLXwine hashtag.

If  you aren’t
on Twitter, you can visit FLXtwits.com to follow the action (including a live stream of the Riesling Hour goings on at Red Newt Cellars). Or, you can log on to Facebook and visit www.facebook.com/FingerLakesWineCountry to post comments, photos or videos
from your riesling tasting experience.

We're tasting a lot of riesling these days at NYCR headquarters, so we'll probably log on and join the fray. Should be a fun event.
