The organizers of TasteCamp are proud to announce that the event will make it’s return this spring in Vermont on June 3-5, 2016.

After visiting Long Island and the Finger Lakes, the Niagara Region, Virginia, Quebec and most recently the Hudson Valley, this weekend of regional discovery will focus on Vermont in search of great wine, but also of cider, beer and various food specialties.

More than 35 bloggers and writers are expected for TasteCamp 2016: Vermont, which will provide participants with the usual mix of great meetings with producers, grand tastings, vineyard (and orchard) visits and, of course, one of the great traditions of the event, a BYO dinner where good bottles and camaraderie are at the heart of the program.

Lenn Thompson, TasteCamp creator and New York Cork Report executive director, explained that: “After taking 2015 off, I wanted to bring TasteCamp back and with my NYCR colleague Todd Trzaskos being so deeply immersed in the Vermont scene, it was a no-brainer to leverage his expertise and connections. Vermont-made wines are getting more attention than ever — and of course the state is well-known for it’s outstanding cider, cheese and beer. We expanded TasteCamp beyond just wine a few years making Vermont a perfect location for us to hold the event.”

Confirmed stops
With the help of TasteCamp veterans Remy Charest and Richard Auffrey, Thompson and Trzaskos TasteCamp are preparing a diversified program, with attendees staying in Waterbury, VT and traveling north, west and points in between during the weekend-long program.

The final list of visit and participating producers is still in-progress, but so far the following have been confirmed: la garagista farm + winery, Lincoln Peak Vineyard, Shelburne Vineyard, Fable Farm Cider, SILO Distillery, Vermont Spirits Distilling Co., Stonecutter Spirits, Shacksbury Cider, Putney Mountain Winery, Huntington River Vineyard, Prohibition Pig and Hill Farmstead Brewing.

About TasteCamp
The concept for TasteCamp, created in 2009 by Lenn Thompson, executive editor of the New York Cork Report, is a simple one: getting enthusiastic journalists and bloggers together in a region that is new to them, to taste as much of the region’s offerings as possible and speak to as many winemakers, cider makers, brewers, distillers and other producers as possible over the course of a weekend.

Most emerging regions in the world would love to get their products in front of new audiences, but it can be a challenge. With TasteCamp, the new audience comes to them.

This is not a junket — attendees pay their own travel expenses, including their hotel rooms and meals.  Through generous sponsors, some meals may be discounted.
