We have a Wine Chick now…one of the originals

If you’ve been dipping your toe in the wine blogging pool for very long knows "The Wine Chicks,"one of the most irreverent wine blogs around. You may have also noticed that The Wine Chicks seem to have flown the coop — the blog has been on hiatus for a while now. Jay, one of the founding chicks, has let me know that it will be revived in the future, but in the meantime, I’m happy to report that she will be joining the LENNDEVOURS team as a special contributor. I know that Jay has a lot of fans out there,…

Tomorrow: Show Us Your Rack!

Don’t forget, tomorrow is your chance to flash the blogosphere by showing us your rack…your wine rack that is. Take a picture of your wine rack/fridge/boxes and post them both on your blog and to the Flickr group I created for the event. I’ll be taking three pictures tonight: One of our cellar (which is actually in the basement) where we store the bulk of our wine. Our little wine fridge where most of the best stuff is stored. Our dining room rack where my upcoming samples and daily-drinking bottles reside. This should be fun, so show us your rack…

Am I a Professional Wine Writer?

"Where did you go to journalism school?  And what are your credentials as a ‘wine critic’?" That interesting little excerpt comes from and email I received a couple weeks week from the well-respected and well-regarded president of a New York wine organization. Someone who has done a great many great thing for New York wine over the years. This was in an email telling me, more or less, that he didn’t want to answer the questions I asked him. It is his right, of course, to refuse my interview questions. He doesn’t have to speak to or email with me.…

New NY Wine Blog: NiagaraEscarpment.net

Have you heard about the Niagara Escarpment wine region in Western New York? I have, but I’ll admit to not knowing a whole lot about it or its wines. Very few of the wines make it to Long Island and, so far, very few wineries that I’ve dealt with have much interest in publicizing their wines in this part of the state. But, that might be changing. Duncan Ross, of not-yet-opened Arrowhead Springs Winery, and I just did an interview together that will be published over at Appellation America soon–and I learned a ton about the region. It’s really an…

New Sponsor: domaine547

I’d like to welcome domain547 as LENNDEVOURS’ newest sponsor. domain547 is a site that I enjoyed long before they floated the idea sponsoring LENNDEVOURS, so I was thrilled when they approached me. The site combines a blog, a forum and a wine shop…all with a fun, irreverent attitude that is hard not to love. So check them out and help support your favorite blog (that’s mine, right?)
