Judging the Hudson Valley Wine & Grape Association’s 5th Annual Hudson Valley Wine Competition

Tonight I have another fun announcement to make. On April 25, I'll be judging the Hudson Valley Wine & Grape Association's 5th Annual Hudson Valley Wine Competition. The judging will take place that day at Terrapin in Rhinebeck, NY from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lunch in there somewhere. Then, on June 12 there is a wine dinner featuring the winning wines. Those are really the only details I have right now, but I'm sure I'll learn more between now and then.

Hudson Valley Wine Bar to Open at Albany International Airport

I just read this morning that a new Hudson Valley Wine Bar will be opening at Albany International Airport. I haven't been able to dig up any further information about it like who is running it, what wines will be available, etc. but this is a great thing. I think that every regional airport should have a wine bar that offers the wines (and beers) made in the neighborhood. If anyone flies into or out of Albany, stop by and let me know how it is.

New York Wine & Culinary Center Announces Gold Medal Month

For the month of October, The Tasting Room at the New York Wine & Culinary Center will be pouring wines that won gold, double gold or best-in-class at the New York Wine & Food Classic earlier this year. This is a great opportunity to taste some of New York’s best wines. Tasters will be able to choose among seven different tasting flights (listed below) and beginning Saturday, October 7, a special tasting of the Governor’s Cup winner, Hermann J.
