Kevinburns As often as I write about New York wines, I probably drink as much New York beer. But, when it comes to actual beer knowledge, I don't know a ton beyond my own tastes (I love hoppy IPAs and Saisons).

That's why I'm happy to announce today that the beer staff here on LENNDEVOURS has expanded by one with the addition of Kevin Burns.

Kevin owns The Foaming Head, a great resource for anyone interested in New York beers, and has worked hard to become an emerging voice on the craft beer scene. Kevin is also currently the bar manager at Aroma Thyme Bistro in the Hudson Valley. In 2009, Kevin was a judge on The Matthew Vassar Cup panel at TAP-NY where he helped to select the three best beers in the Hudson Valley.

Unfortunately, Kevin is a die-hard fan of the Cleveland Browns, which almost disqualified him from this position, and also roots for the New York Yankees and Syracuse Orange. He graduated SUNY Cortland in 2007 with a B.S. in Sports Management and a B.S. in Business Economics. He is currently working on his M.S. in Business Education at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.

Kevin will be writing beer reviews and, hopefully, doing some food and beer pairing projects as well.

    The **Browns**?!!???
    C’mon, man!!

    I know, Joe. I know.
But, the guy knows his beer, so we’ll let it slide.
Plus, it will give me someone else to taunt during football season.

The Browns? Really? That’s OK, hope Lenn doesn’t punish you too much for that. Welcome - I really look forward to your posts! Cheers, Kitty

Welcome Kevin. I’m ALL for more beer stuff. Bring it on! And I won’t let Lenn break your chops about the Yankees at least:)

So conflicting. I’m a Clevelander, and thus a Browns fan. I also loathe the Yankees with the heat of the sun. I guess no one is perfect.
Welcome, Kevin. Always awesome to expand our knowledge - cheers!

Welcome Kevin!! Some winemaker like OJ, others like Chardonnay :) …..and pretty much the rest of us needs a lot of beer to keep making wine!!

Welcome to the team, Kevin! Anxious to explore NY beers with you.

Welcome. Glad you joined the LENNDEVOURS team and can’t wait to read more about NY beers. Now there won’t be any excuse for NY winemakers to not drink NY beer during harvest…
