This just in — local vegetables really do taste better.
As part of the Eat Local Challenge, Nena and I had yet another healthy, delicious, largely-local meal (at least in my mind).
- The leaf lettuce (local farmstand)
- The ripe tomatoes (local farmstand)
- The green tomatoes, which were fried in whole wheat panko breadcrumbs (our garden)
- Channing Perrine 2004 Cuvee Tropical Chardonnay from Channing Daughthers Winery, which was corked unfortuntely
That leaves the feta, yellow peppers (which were bought at the farmstand, but we aren’t sure of their origins), chicken and chicken spices. Not bad…not bad at all.
