The Tasting Room by Atwater Vineyards is now open in Watkins Glen!
Why is this news one might ask? What’s new about another vineyard opening a satellite tasting room? The Tasting Room will obviously showcase Atwater wines, but what makes this unique is that it will also sell and offer tastings of other New York Wines from all over the state, not just those local to the Finger Lakes.
For example, The Tasting Room in September has a Featured Flight of the Month; Four New York Pinot Gris from Atwater, Hector Wine Company, Anthony Road and Channing Daughters.
The Tasting Room is the vision of the Marks family, owners of Atwater Vineyards, and the idea was to fill a perceived void in Watkins Glen for area visitors that stay at the many in town accommodations and would like to be able to have a local experience after most winery tasting rooms close early in the evening.
And why stop with wines? To enhance the customer experience The Tasting Room will also offer a variety of hard apple ciders and a selection of cheeses all from New York State. Depending upon the season The Tasting Room also has plans to feature other products from New York Farms.
The Tasting Room will be open from noon until 8 p.m. during the week and until 9 p.m. on weekends.
