Long Island Restaurant Week: Share Your Stories

Long Island Restaurant Week is going on right now and continues through Sunday night. Participating restaurants across the Island are offering special 3-course dinners for the terrific price of $21.95. I know what you might be thinking, because I think the same way. Yes, some of the menus are pretty boring and lame. You know, house salad for an appetizer, roast half chicken for the entree and chocolate lava cake for dessert, but there are also some really interesting and unique items being offered as well. A Short Break from Blogging: Heading to Montauk

I probably won’t be blogging much over the next few days. As I mentioned last week, we’re heading to Montauk tomorrow to celebrate Nena’s 30th birthday. We’re kind of playing our four days there by ear, but we are definitely planning to have dinner one night at Inlet Seafood, which was recommended by several of you. Then, I got this email late last week from a reader (who also happens to operate a B&B in wine country): "We’ve been taking advantage of LI Restaurant Week and going to as many restaurants as we can before the week is up. The best so far has been Tierra Mar at…

1st Annual Long Island Restuarant Week: November 5 – 12

It’s still a couple months away, but the first ever Long Island Restaurant Week has been announced. It will take place November 5 – 12 all over Long Island. Looking at the website, there just aren’t many restaurants signed up yet. Hopefully that will change because this definitely has potential. Check their site as the week approaches, hopefully there will be more, and better, restaurants involved by then.
