Restaurant Week in the Finger Lakes: Local Food, Large Crowds

On the first night that acclaimed restaurant Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine was open during Finger Lakes Restaurant Week, owner Bob Stack found that nearly half his customers had ordered the all-local Restaurant Week menu. Some of those customers had come specifically for the event; others hadn’t known, but were eager to try the chef’s special hyper-local creations when given the option. “We’re off to a wonderful start,” Stack told me as we finished our meal on the deck overlooking Seneca Lake. “We’re very curious to find out how other restaurants are doing with it. Long Island Restaurant Week Starts on Sunday

The third annual Long Island Restaurant Week begins this Sunday, November 2 and runs through Sunday, November 9. Participating restaurants will offer a three-course prix fixe dinners for $24.95 per person all night, except Saturday, when it will only be available until 7 p.m. Each restaurant offers its own unique menu… and hopefully this year restaurants won't go crazy withe supplements for special courses (which isn't in the spirit of the event at all). Long Island Restaurant Week is going on right now and continues through Sunday night. Participating restaurants across the Island are offering special 3-course dinners for the terrific price of $21.95. I know what you might be thinking, because I think the same way. Yes, some of the menus are pretty boring and lame.
