Yesterday afternoon, our very own Evan Dawson was in London to accept the award for “International Wine Book of the Year” at the Louis Roederer Wine Writing Awards 2012.
No one around here is surprised at the success Evan’s beautifully written book has enjoyed, but it’s amazing to see the book reach so many people around the globe — all about our little wine region in upstate New York.
Congratulations, my friend. We’re proud of all that you’ve accomplished. We’re honored to have you as a driving force behind this website.
So, when is the next book coming out?
congratulations to Evan. My wife and I loved the book and we recommend it strongly to anyone planning trip to the Finger Lakes. We loaned our copy to friends and they used it as their travel guide.
Congrats Evan!
I found it slightly awkward when someone brought Evan’s book with them for Mike Schnelle (of Red Tail Ridge Winery) to sign—-but it is a great book so I can’t blame them too much…
As a reader of the Cork Report, I feel a sort of proprietary joy over this award (like a proud, not papa, maybe an uncle). Congrats to Evan!
Congratulations Evan - I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your book while sipping a glass of Finger Lakes Riesling and looking at Keuka Lake. We have visited many of the wineries you mentioned but now enjoying going back to each of them knowing a little more of the story behind them. Thank you for sharing this treasure!
Evan, Kudos to you and the recognition this book, this industry and our area finally deserves.
Congratulations Evan!
