#TasteNY: June 6 with Red Tail Ridge Winery
I’m excited today to announce the return of #TasteNY — our Twitter-based virtual New York wine tasting events. The next edition will take place on Wednesday, June 6 at 8 p.m. ET and will feature the wines of Red Tail Ridge Winery, a 32-acre vineyard and winery located on the western shore of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes, owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Mike Schnelle (vineyard manager) and Nancy Irelan (winemaker).
During the event, which can be followed using the #TasteNY hashtag on Twitter, wine lovers from across the country will be discussing four of Nancy’s wines:
- 2010 Dry Riesling
- 2010 Semi-Dry Riesling
- 2009 Blaufrankisch
- 2010 Pinot Noir
Nancy and other members of the Red Tail Ridge team will be on Twitter during the tasting to answer questions and discuss not only the wines but viticulture and winemaking in the Finger Lakes.
We’ll plan 15-20 minutes on each wine and the continue the discussion into the evening.
If you’d like to join us, Nancy and Mike have agreed to waive the cost of shipping for anyone who buys the #TasteNY pack. To make sure you receive the wines in time, you should order by June 1. We’re encouraging those who purchase the packs to host tasting parties at home or at their favorite restaurant or wine bar. Wine is best when shared with friends, right?
I will be hosting one such tasting somewhere in Long Island wine country that evening and our managing editor, Evan Dawson will be hosting one in Rochester.
This sounds like fun …
… where is the Albany area tasting???
Being serious, what is the price point on the TasteNY pack?
