By any measure, TasteCamp 2009:Long Island was a huge success. 30 bloggers descended upon Long Island and tasted more than 150 wines over the course of 2 1/2 days. Great discussions ensued, as did a dozens of posts about the experience. I think it was historic both for the blogging world and for the Long Island wine community.
Well, tonight I'm thrilled to announce that we're doing it again — May 7-9, 2010 in the Finger Lakes wine region of New York.
The programming specifics are still to be worked out, but I guarantee that we'll be tasting plenty of great wine, meeting passionate, interesting people, and I hope getting the word out about this jewel of a wine region.
If you're a wine blogger interested in attending, please let me know as soon as possible (via email). We're going to expand the event to 40 or 50 people, but I think we'll fill up fast if TasteCamp 2009 was any indication.
In coming weeks, we'll be publishing more information on hotel rooms, recommended airports, and of course information about where we'll be tasting over the weekend.
A word of warning for the fathers out there — the final day of the event is Mother's Day, so tread lightly and talk to your wife before committing to anything. And we'll make sure we have some sort of Mother's Day happening Sunday morning for all the mom's in attendance.
