Wine Library TV Has Fun With Long Island Franc

I’ve been talking about Long Island’s cabernet franc wines for a while…even daring to question merlot’s supremacy because of my love affair with franc. Well, Gary Vaynerchuk over at Wine Library TV loves cab franc too, especially those from the Loire Valley. Late last week though, he looked much closer to home, drinking three Long Island renditions. I for one am glad to see Gary getting back to basics. He’s toned down the theatrics and is really doing more educational work again with WLTV. And incidentally, for $13, the Pellegrini bottle was a steal. I say was because it sold…

Gary Vaynerchuk on Late Night with Conan O’Brien?

Gary Vaynerchuk, our favorite out-of-his-mind vlogger has already conquered must of the wine-related Internet. He’s been in Time magazine. Now, he’s coming to a TV near you. Yes, real TV, not Wine Library TV. Gary will be appearing on Late Night with Conan O’Brien show tomorrow night. As far as I know, this is the first time that anyone in the wine blog/vlog/podcast world has crossed over onto such a mainstream media outlet. It should be interesting. I’m a Gary fan. I’m a Conan fan. I can only assume that he’ll come out in a WLTV t-shirt with wristbands up…

Gary Vaynerchuk’s a Filthy Jets Fan…but Time Magazine Doesn’t Care

A big shout out this morning to Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV, a man who continues to grow his empire. What’s up this time? He’s featured in Time Magazine. It’s a great little piece…funny and engaging just like Gary himself. I’ve often joked with Gary that he’s a PR floozy and he admits as much saying "I want to be famous." I’ve told you before about how much I enjoy Gary’s video blog but it appears that most of America will be watching it soon. Okay, maybe not all of America, but anyone with a pulse and an IQ…

Gary Vaynerchuck Just Bought Cork’d. Is he the Next Rupert Murdoch?

This just in: Gary Vaynerchuk, everyone’s favorite wine vlogging superstar, has just agreed to purchase cork’d as a part of a newly formed company (which he will head). On the surface, this might not sound like big news, but I think that the potential growth here is huge. I’ve toyed with places like Cellar Tracker and cork’d in the past, but none of these site have really impressed me as anything more than searchable mini-blogs where people can post tasting notes. Sure, that is still providing a service to users–and online tasting journal. But I have a little black notebook…

Finger Lakes Riesling on Wine Library TV

In case you missed it, I just wanted to point out that Gary V is tasting New York wines again, this time turning his tongue towards three rieslings from the Finger Lakes. And, as much as it pains me to admit it, he seems spot on with his impressions. I’ve not had the Silver Threat, but I have had both the Heron Hill and the Hermann Wiemer (which was part of the New York Cork Club’s first shipment). Much like our Jet-fan "friend" I think the Heron Hill is just okay…but that Wiemer, oh that Wiemer, delicious. Check out Wine…

Wine Library TV Meets the New York Cork Club

New York Wines are Taking Over The World! Overstated, sure. But the wines I am so passionate about are working their way around the Internet pretty nicely. On today’s episode of Wine Library TV everyone’s favorite Chad Pennington wannabe tastes wines from the New York Cork Club’s February shipment. When I found that that Gary, who surely has a better arm that Pennington, was going to taste the wines, I was excited. I don’t think he’s featured any NY wines on his uber-popular vlog. But would he like them? Would he think these wines like Joe Namath…or would they be…

Gary Vaynerchuk is One Crazy, Wine-Swilling Dude

Gary Vaynerchuk, Director of Operations for Wine Library, friend of LENNDEVOURS and intrepid host of Wine Library TV is at it again. As any of you east of the Mississippi know, a winter storm has blanketed much of the midwest and northeast–some areas with piles of snow, others with sleet and freezing rain. But that didn’t stop Gary from tasting three highly rated wines on today’s episode of Wine Library TV. In fact, he even braved the elements to see just how driving, freezing rain would affect his palate. Gary is always fun to watch, but I particularly enjoyed how…
