There's a lot going on in New York wine country these days, so I thought I'd put together a post with some of the highlights:

• First, I'd like to offer congratulations to Greene Grape Wine Company, my partners in the New York Cork Club, for being named “Wine and Spirits Retailer of the Year” by the New York State Wine and Grape Foundation. I'd like to think that the NYCC had a lot to with them winning.
• In case you missed it, Appellation America posted an interview that I did with Thomas Laszlo of Heron Hill Winery on Keuka Lake: The Mysteries of Finger Lakes Terroir. Thomas is known for speaking his mind and I think he did that in our interview.
• I also think that if you enjoy LENNDEVOURS, you should check out a still-new wine blog out if Ithaca, NY called (cleverly) Ithacork. I check it every day for updates.
• Applewood Winery in Warwick, NY is hosting the New York Riesling Experience May 2 and 3. It will include food and Wine pairings, chef demonstrations, winemaker
  talks, comparative riesling tastings and live entertainment. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
• For the month of April, members of Long Island Wine Council will be taking part in Barrel Tasting Month, a great opportunity for tasting room visitors to sample reds from the much ballyhooed 2007 vintage.
