Do you drink beer? Do you eat food? Do you enjoy aforementioned activities? Well, you’re in luck if you’re ready to forget that dreamy beach body and drop all New Year’s resolutions for these calorie-filled local beer-events.

Several Long Island restaurants have put together winter beer dinner series to fix the stir-crazy in all of us.

Wednesday, January 15  7 p.m. – The Riverhead Project hosts Captain Lawrence Brewing Company for their rotating “The Beer Project” series.  These informal, family-style pairings conducted at a communal table facilitate fun beer conversation with brewers and brewery representatives.  At $40 a seat, these tickets are a steal – including beverages and a taste of Chef Lia Fallon’s culinary talent.

Thursday, January 16 – Love Lane Kitchen pairs four courses with beer from Long Ireland Beer Company for “Beer Dinner Thursdays” at their Mattituck mainstay.  This Riverhead based brewery is well known for its Celtic Ale, and Black Friday Stout which are brewed entirely in-house.  I haven’t seen the menu yet but I would look out for a stout-dessert pairing.  Also part of a rotating series, LLK will bring in Crooked Ladder Brewing Company for another 4 courses a week later on January 23.

Tuesday, January 21 7 p.m. – The Lark Pub and Grub teams up with Great South Bay Brewery for a 5-course pairing menu featuring limited release brews.  The Lark has a great rotating draft list and puts on a great trivia night weekly.  If you find yourself in East Northport for the event, be sure to check out Karp’s Hardware down the street for their serious homebrew section.

Keep an eye out here on the NYCR for updates on local happenings – mostly to do with beer.  All of these dinners suggest or require reservations.  Be sure to call ahead and try to finagle a designated driver.
