This site has had more-or-less the same format and design for much of its almost 8-year life. I've always felt that content is much more important than design. I still feel that way. I'm a writer, after all.

But that doesn't mean design is unimportant.

And so — the New York Cork Report will be undergoing a major facelift in coming weeks, including a brand new design and a move to an entirely new platform.

This move is long overdue and will help us present our content in a much better way and hopefully grow with us as our coverage continues to expand into every corner of New York's wine, beer and food world.

Of course, migrating more than 3,000 stories to a new system is going to take some time — time that we would typically devote to writing. We'll still have new stories almost every day, but we may miss a day here and there. It will be worth it in the end, trust me!

By the way, that picture is just a screen capture from our current test site. There's a good chance that the new site will look at least a bit different, but you get the idea of where we are going.
